Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand delivers 893,400 vehicles / +9.1 percent in period to February
Volkswagen Passenger Cars delivered 893,400 (January-February 2012: 818,800; +9.1 percent) vehicles to customers in the period to February. Compared with the prior year, the delivery level in the month of February was almost unchanged, with the brand handing over 401,400 (February 2012: 399,700; +0.4 percent) vehicles.

In the year of its 50th anniversary Automobili Lamborghini is presenting an extremely exclusive model at the Geneva Motor Show 2013. Only three unique units of the Lamborghini Veneno will be built and sold. Its design is consistently focused on optimum aerodynamics and cornering stability, giving the Veneno the real dynamic experience of a racing prototype, yet it is fully homologated for the road. With a maximum output of 552 kW / 750 hp, the Veneno accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and the top speed for this street-legal racing car stands at 355 km/h. It is priced at three million Euros plus tax – and all three units have already been sold to customers.

Volkswagen Academy Enhances Mechatronic Programs to Associate Degree
Volkswagen Chattanooga announced today that the three-year Automation Mechatronics Program (AMP) and Car Mechatronic Program (CMP) offered in its Volkswagen Academy will be upgraded from a technical diploma to an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Mechatronics Engineering Technology. The degree is offered through Volkswagen’s on-going partnership with Chattanooga State Community College.

Audi off to strongest U.S. sales start of any year in its history with 26th consecutive record-breaking month in February
Audi today reported February sales of 10,877 vehicles, making it the strongest start to a year in the brand’s history. Sales for the month rose 27.5% from a year earlier, with January-February year-to-date sales up 17.2% to a record 20,993 vehicles delivered to customers.

Volkswagen Group Meets its Targets for Fiscal Year 2012
Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft announced its key financial data for fiscal year 2012 in an ad hoc release published today. With sales revenue of EUR 192.7 billion (prior year: EUR 159.3 billion), the Group’s operating profit of EUR 11.5 billion (EUR 11.3 billion) exceeded the prior-year record level.

The XL1 from Volkswagen is the most fuel-efficient production car in the world, with a European combined fuel consumption rating of 261 mpg. Thanks to its plug-in hybrid system, this two-seat vehicle can also cover up to 32 miles as a zero-emissions vehicle in all-electric mode.

New Volkswagen Golf GTD Makes its World Debut at the Geneva Show
Over the past three decades, fans of the Golf GTD have been excited by the car’s combination of fuel efficiency and sporty performance and looks. At this year’s Geneva International Motor Show, Volkswagen debuts the latest version of this fuel-sipping sporty compact, which features a 184-hp version of the new EA288 TDI turbocharged, direct-injection, four-cylinder diesel engine that already complies with the challenging EU-6 emissions standard.

Volkswagen Group begins year with increase in deliveries
The Volkswagen Group began the year with a 14.9 percent* increase in deliveries for January which totaled 749,900 (January 2012: 652,400)* units. “In particular the sizeable increase in China – due to the later date set for the Chinese New Year – helped the Volkswagen Group achieve this January performance. For February, we expect a decline in deliveries in China as a result of this special effect.

Audi makes a successful start to 2013: Worldwide sales climb 16.3 percent
Following the record-breaking year of 2012, AUDI AG has posted a successful start to 2013: In January, the company sold around 111,750 automobiles worldwide, an increase of 16.3 percent and testimony to clear growth in all regions of the world. The successful midsize model lines A4 and Q5 made a substantial contribution to this growth. Deliveries rose strongly in China at 38.5 percent. In the USA (+7.5 percent) and Europe (+8.6 percent), too, January deliveries topped the figures from the prior-year month.

Volkswagen starts digital campaign: Road trip in Hawaii with the Beetle Cabriolet
Volkswagen is starting its first new-format digital campaign to coincide with the market launch of the Beetle Cabriolet. “As sun as possible” is the motto of the campaign in which six young trendsetters share their experiences during a tour of Hawaii in the new Beetle Cabriolet using social networks and websites. On the same occasion, the Beetle website is being re-launched and there are new advertising motifs for print media.

EPA Recognizes Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations, LLC Among Nation’s Leading Green Power Users
Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations, LLC announced today that for the first time it appears as No. 11 on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA's) Top 20 On-site list of the largest green power purchasers. Volkswagen Group of America Chattanooga Operations, LLC hosts an on-site solar array, where more than 13 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of green power annually are generated, which is enough green power to meet 12 percent of the organization's electricity use. The Volkswagen Chattanooga Solar Park is the biggest solar installation at any U.S. auto factory.

Volkswagen Reports 6.7 Percent Increase in January
Volkswagen of America, Inc. (VWoA) today reported 29,018 units sold in January, a 6.7 percent increase over prior year sales. The company achieved 29 consecutive months of year-over-year growth and the best January since 1974. Over the last three years, the company has more than doubled its annual sales volume, demonstrating its long-term growth strategy, Mach 18, is gaining momentum in the U.S. market.

Volkswagen today “powered up” the largest single solar installation at an automotive manufacturing facility in the United States and the biggest solar installation in the state of Tennessee. Nevada Grants Audi the First Automaker Permit to Operate Autonomous Vehicles on Public Roads
The State of Nevada issued to Audi only the second license allowing the testing of autonomous vehicles on the state’s public roads. This makes Audi the first automotive original equipment manufacturer to obtain this special permit.

VOLKSWAGEN REPORTS 35.1 PERCENT INCREASE IN 2012 U.S. SALES
Volkswagen of America, Inc. (VWoA) today reported 438,133 units delivered in 2012, a 35.1 percent increase over prior year sales.  December deliveries totaled 44,005, up 35.4 percent over 2011, marking the best December since 1970.
